The Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad inaugurated the Higher National School of Renewable Energy, Environment & Sustainable Development, as part of his working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Batna.
The Prime Minister Djerad, accompanied by a large ministerial delegation, inaugurated the Higher National School of Renewable Energy, Environment & Sustainable Development, baptized in the name of the deceased Dr. Abdelhak Rafik Bererhi, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
During the baptism ceremony, the Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad indicated that this project is “one of the concerns of the Government”, and that he had “personally” encouraged the project of this school, given the competence of the team that worked on it.
Welcoming the ability of this school to attract many Algerian skills established abroad, such as Professor Belkacem Heba, nicknamed by the scientific community, “the Algerian researcher with a thousand inventions”, the Prime Minister called for the implementation place of a “network” of cooperation between national competences residing in Algeria and those abroad.
He insisted on the occasion on the importance of international cooperation in the field of renewable energies to “help raise the level of the Renewable Energy School and raise it to the rank of similar international schools”.
During a presentation on the School, the Prime Minister valued “the relationship that links the School with the economic sector in general and the industrial sector in particular”.
He also praised the “competence” of the late Dr. Abdelhak Rafik Berarhi, who’s National School of Renewable Energies, Environment and Sustainable Development bears the name, describing him as “a national authority and one of those who have given a lot to the Algerian university”.
An asset for higher education
The school, which strengthens the higher education and scientific research sector at national and local level, and for which an investment of 700 million DA has been allocated, offers 1,500 educational places, with 4 amphitheaters and 10 laboratories of applied work and scientific research.
For the 2020-2021 academic year, 180 new students are expected to join this school, the first of its kind nationwide.
The number of students currently in the preparatory phase is 52 students, from several wilayas in the country.
